Season of Self-Discovery: Finding your Purpose

Season of Self-Discovery: Finding your Purpose

Wow! We made it to the week that puts it all together: Find Your Purpose!

Identifying Purpose

I am so passionate about this series, because it is giving me a sense of purpose. I want to help you to find and fulfill your purpose.

To be clear that this method is something that I learned from Lavendaire. (please look it up on youtube) We are going to identify your compass, tools, and impact to find purpose.

1. Compass: What makes you happy in life?

List all of the things that you do to make yourself happy. What did you decide to create? How did you make that decision? What are you thankful for? Why does it help you improve your mood? What inspires you?

2. Tools: What are you good at?

Now create a list of the things that you are good at doing. What do people ask you to do or make for them? What clubs or organizations were you a part of in school? What is your go-to thing that you are successful at?

3. Impact: How do you want to change the world?

This is a much more introspective question. Any and all things that we do affect the world, so how do you purposefully want to change the world?

One Year Vision

Those are some pretty heavy things to think and write about, but the work is not done.

Now I want you to create a one year vision. Exactly one year to the date. It’s hard for me to fathom 5 years or 10 years, but one year is plausible.

What you want to be doing on this exact day. How has the world around you changed? Did you move, or travel? Are you working for yourself or someone else? Do you like your job or are you in school?

Pack as much detail into your one year vision as possible. Next week we will take about making that vision a reality. Let me know your purpose down below.
